The enterprise operates on the territory of the Shchigrovsky and Solntsevsky districts on an area of ​​46,000 hectares (as of 01/13/2022).

Together with EkoNiva-Semena, Zashchitnoye is successfully implementing a winter wheat and soybean breeding program. Currently, seven varieties of winter wheat of its own selection have been transferred to the State Sort Commission. Together with the German breeding company I.G.Pflanzenzucht, a winter wheat breeding project is being implemented. The farm is engaged in the reproduction of the F-1 corn hybrid.

A state variety testing site operates on the territory of the enterprise, where preliminary tests of new varieties are carried out. Our own control and seed laboratory carries out quality control of seed material, which allows us to obtain high quality seeds, including premium ones.

The material and technical base allows producing 250 tons of seeds per day and placing 50,000 tons of grain for one-time controlled storage.

The farm also operates a livestock breeding complex for 600 heads of dairy herds with loose housing technology.

The enterprise is equipped with modern agricultural machinery, the most highly intensive technologies are used. On the basis of the agricultural enterprise, Field Days and seminars are held annually for farmers in Russian regions. Employees regularly improve their skills, undergo internships at agricultural enterprises abroad, and attend major Russian and European exhibitions.

Zashchitnoye pays great attention to the development of the social sphere: it builds housing for specialists, provides assistance to a rural school, kindergarten, and cultural institutions.
